Uh oh! It seems as though Wiz Khalifa has found himself in hot water with Romania!
According to prosecutors, Wiz is now facing an illegal drug possession charge after allegedly smoking marijuana during his performance at the “Beach Please” festival in Romania. Wiz was headlining the event in the seaside village of Costinesti on the Black Sea shore when he was caught with the drug on Sunday morning.
“During a performance at a music festival held in the resort of Costinesti, the accused was found to have possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis and to have consumed (on stage) another quantity in the form of a handmade cigarette,” Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors said in a statement.
In Romania, cannabis is considered a “risk drug” and being in possession of it can lead to a lengthy prison sentence of up to 10 years.
A source close to the investigation confirmed that Wiz and a few others were taken in for questioning. However, the California rapper was not detained, even though he received a charge. Nevertheless, prosecutors state that the investigation is still ongoing at this time.
