Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Princess of Dubai, is making headlines after she recently took to Instagram to publicly declare a divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The post on her verified Instagram account read: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.”
This declaration seemingly references the Islamic practice known as triple talaq, where husbands can divorce their wives by uttering “I divorce you” three times.
She then concluded her statement with a firm sign-off: “Take care. Your ex-wife.”
The couple, who welcomed a baby girl less than two months ago, have been married for just over a year.
