French Montana is catching heat after getting close with Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. Lara, who is married to Trump’s son Eric, shares the family’s controversial far-right views, particularly on immigration.
The Moroccan-born rapper posted a picture of himself in the studio with Lara, who also serves as co-chair of the Republican National Committee. He captioned the post: “Look who came to check me at the studio @laraleatrump she love her some MONTANA [love hands emoji].”
Montana also shared a video of them in the studio, where Lara flashed a peace sign and looked at ease. The posts sparked immediate backlash, especially given Montana’s status as a practicing Muslim. Critics were quick to point out the former president’s infamous call for a total ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
One commenter remarked, “Project 2025 literally says they want to ban Muslims and send all the immigrants back to their homeland, so good luck with that lol.” Hot 97’s Laura Stylez simply said, “SMH,” while her colleague Ebro commented, “Working on a pardon eh?”
This incident follows French Montana’s recent association with another far-right figure, Andrew Tate, who is currently awaiting trial on charges including human trafficking and rape. The “Unforgettable” rapper brought Tate out during a festival appearance in Romania, dedicating a song to him. Tate, who is also facing allegations in the UK, encouraged the audience to chant, “Escape the matrix” during the show.
French Montana celebrated the moment on Instagram, writing: “First rapper to do a stream with top G and the first to bring Top G out on stage! ROMANIA WE LOVE YOU. S/O Andrew Tate + Tristan Tate.”
As both Tate brothers await trial, they maintain their innocence, claiming they are victims of a political conspiracy.
