Baller Alert had the exclusive opportunity to taste and experience Rae’s alcoholic beverage at the Viarae Suite during Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C.
There’s nothing like a fun festival without the perfect beverage, and Viarae certainly fits the bill. At the start of the festival, we were immersed in the Viarae activation, which showcased the unique branding of Rae’s new wine.
The sleek bottle design and eye-catching logo immediately drew attention, setting the tone for a day of celebration.
But Issa Rae, the multi-talented entrepreneur, didn’t stop at just wine. We also got a glimpse of her latest venture into the beauty industry with her hair line, Sienna Naturals.
In the same activation space, we were treated to live hair demos by Hannah Diop, the Founder of Sienna Naturals, and her expert team.
They showcased the effectiveness of their natural hair products, highlighting the brand’s commitment to healthy, beautiful hair for women of color.

As anticipation built for performances by Victoria Monét, Megan Thee Stallion and more, we indulged in glasses of Viarae. The highlight of our day came when we shared a celebratory cheers with Issa Rae herself, adding a personal touch to the already electric atmosphere.
For Rae, Prosecco holds a special place both on and off screen. It was the signature drink of her character in “Insecure.” This connection adds a layer of authenticity to the brand, tying it closely to Rae’s public persona and success story.
As we enjoyed the festival, sipping on Viarae and watching incredible performances, it became clear that this wasn’t just about a new product launch. It was a celebration of Black creativity, entrepreneurship, and success across multiple industries – from entertainment and music to beauty and beverage.
