Jonathan Majors is sharing his thoughts on Robert Downey Jr.‘s getting a chance to play the villain in the forthcoming “Avengers” films.
If you recall, Majors was slated to portray the role of Kang the Conquerer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The long-awaited character would be the new villain in the franchise, making his debut in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.” Unfortunately, Marvel chose to distance themselves from Majors following his legal drama. This has left his Kang character scrapped altogether, at least for now. The villain has been replaced with Doctor Doom, played by Downey. This update has left Majors admittedly devastated over his lost opportunity.
“Yeah, heartbroken. Of course,” Majors told TMZ this week when asked about his thoughts on his replacement. “I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”
Marvel ditched Majors in December 2023, joining many agencies and people who ended business relationships with the actor. Their decision arrived the same day that he was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault. Majors was found not guilty of one count of intentional assault in the third degree and one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree. The charge stems from a March 2023 arrest for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. She claimed he snatched his phone from her, causing an injury to her middle finger. Jabbari then accused Majors of hitting her in the head and causing a cut behind her ear during their scuffle. Majors has maintained his innocence.
Downey’s new gig has left Majors fans wondering why he was not allowed another chance. Many online have pointed out that Downey also has a criminal past, including arrests for drug possession.
I’m out the loop, let me get this right… Jonathan Majors was convicted of a misdemeanor, and was dropped by Disney/marvel. Then Marvel goes in a different direction by casting Robert Downey Jr., who’s been convicted of felonies, as Dr. Doom?🤔

I do think it’s a bit hypocritical to replace Jonathan Majors with RDJ… considering the public perception of RDJ before his Iron Man role… just seems a bit selectively moral

Give this man all his jobs back please!! I’m not subscribing to his downfall when it was very obvious that both people in his case were the aggressor in different ways. If those white men were forgiven for worse, Jonathan Majors should be too. https://t.co/ZSxJecFHoy
