A devastating incident in Boynton Beach, Florida, has left a pregnant woman and her mother dead after a high-speed police chase ended in a fatal collision. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Neoni Copeland, was driving a Kia Stinger at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a blue Toyota Corolla around 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, according to multiple reports.
Authorities stated that the Toyota Corolla, driven by 27-year-old Jenice Woods, was attempting to turn when Copeland’s car collided with it. Following the crash, Copeland allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended by responding officers.
Both Woods and her mother, 57-year-old Marcia Pochette, were transported to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Junel Pochette, Woods’ father and Marcia’s husband, shared with CBS12 News that his daughter was two months pregnant at the time of the crash. “Two and a half lives were taken away from me: my daughter, my wife, my future grandchild,” he said, expressing the family’s profound grief. “We were looking forward to a new grandbaby.”
This tragic accident has left a community mourning the loss of three lives and underscores the dangers of high-speed.
