With the Paris Olympics underway, U.S. fans are glued to Team USA as they rack up victory after victory.
As of Wednesday, August 7th, Team USA is leading the medal count with an impressive 86, according to the Olympics tracker. Of the many wins, Team USA has secured 24 gold, 31 silver, and 31 bronze medals. Several highly anticipated competitions have left viewers on the edge of their seats. One of which is the Artistic Gymnastics category.
The Women’s group consists of Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Joscelyn Roberson, and Leanne Wong. Several standout performances were witnessed, including Biles’ All-Around and Women’s Vault, which earned her gold medals. Biles walked away with silver for her Floor Exercise. Lee stunned in the All-Around and Uneven Bars, winning the bronze in both. The team as a whole secured the gold medal, having been crowned the 2024 U.S. Women’s Olympic Team.
Several runners excelled as well, such as Noah Lyles, who put on a gold-worthy performance in the men’s 100M. Cole Hocker won the top medal in the 1500M. Many were eager to witness Sha’carri Richardson’s Olympic debut. She won a silver in the women’s 100M race. Gabrielle Thomas also walked away with the gold in the 200M.

These accomplishments do not begin to scratch the surface of the incredible feats that the numerous American athletes have accomplished. With the Olympics concluding on August 11th, there are still a few days left before Team USA can be awarded even more accolades.
