Two Men Found Guilty in Connection to PnB Rock’s Murder

Two men have been found guilty in connection to the tragic murder of rapper PnB Rock. Freddie Trone, 42, and Tremont Jones, 46, faced the music as a jury delivered their verdicts.

Freddie Trone was charged with felony murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy. It took the jury less than four hours to decide that Trone orchestrated the robbery by sending his armed 17-year-old son into a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles to rob PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Allen, on September 12, 2022.

Trone’s co-defendant, Tremont Jones, was found guilty on one count of conspiracy and two counts of robbery. Jones was accused of informing Trone about the rapper’s whereabouts on the day of the murder.

Rakim Allen, better known as PnB Rock, was only 30 years old when he was gunned down in South Los Angeles. The jury, composed of four men and eight women, determined that Trone was behind the wheel in the surveillance footage showing the vehicle used to drop off and pick up the 17-year-old.

This footage was pivotal in securing the verdict. Trone’s defense lawyer, Winston McKesson, argued that his son had taken his car keys to commit the murder. However, Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson countered that Trone knowingly supplied his son with a semi-automatic gun, a ski mask, and a detailed robbery plan.

Jones maintained his innocence, claiming no involvement in the murder plot. After Allen’s death, some speculated that his fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, inadvertently disclosed their location by posting about her meal at Roscoe’s on social media. During the trial, she clarified that her post did not specify the exact location. Richardson suggested it was actually Jones who provided the critical information.

Following the verdict, Allen’s mother, Deanna Allen, expressed her relief. “I’m elated,” she said. “I wanted to jump up and scream, ‘Hallelujah.’ I’m so happy it was quick. We got justice for Rakim. I feel better knowing they’ll be in jail for a long time.”
