Nipsey Hussle fans are celebrating the life and legacy of the rapper, who would have been 38 years old.
Throughout his life, Hussle left an impact on both music and his community. He made strides by selling 60 copies of his “Mailbox Money” mixtape for $1,000 a piece. Jay-Z was among those who purchased one, which helped Hussle become one of the most respected artists in hip-hop. His debut studio album “Victory Lap,” which became a motto of sorts in the years since his passing, was released in February 2018. The project was immediately praised and nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album.
When he wasn’t in the booth, he was growing his empire, which included the Marathon Clothing store. The location is situated inside a strip mall that he owns and loves. Hussle would often host events in the complex and was loved in Los Angeles and beyond.
Though his life was senselessly cut short in March 2019, August 15th is a day of celebration and remembrance for this timeless superstar. Whether you’re working toward a dream or enjoying one already attained, Nipsey Hussle has something in his catalog for everyone.
