Beyoncé fans are reeling after it was falsely reported that she would appear at the Democratic National Convention.
Thursday night concluded the event and served as the most anticipated evening. Kamala Harris took the stage to formally accept her presidential nomination. Adding to the excitement was an exclusive report from TMZ claiming that they’d confirmed Bey as the surprise guest for the evening. Naturally, the BeyHive was excited as they theorized what records she might perform.
Things took a disappointing turn when Bey’s longtime publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she was never scheduled to appear at the DNC. Noel-Schure took things a step further by sharing a photo of her watching the show from her home and slammed those putting out fake news.
“Focus on the win and register to vote. Do not report rumors. FOCUS,” she wrote in the caption.
Her announcement did little to calm the angry hive, which took digs at everyone from the presidential candidate, Bey herself, and most deserving, TMZ, who spread the inaccurate story. They have since recanted their story.
