Wax figures have been known to be a physical symbol used to honor celebrities and public figures, offering fans a chance to see the lifelike figures of their favorite stars. While there are numerous wax figures around the world, only a few have captured these celebs perfectly. We have selected some of the best celebrity wax figures that are more than just art but also tributes and lasting legacies of these talented individuals.
Rihanna – Madame Tussauds Hong Kong
Last year, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong unveiled its version of the Fenty queen. The figure highlighted Rihanna’s impeccable fashion-forward style and breathtaking presence. To mimic her looks, Madame Tussauds chose to dress the figurine in Rihanna’s monotone orange Fenty outfit, which she previously wore during the brand’s 2020 pop-up launch.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
Over the years, Madame Tussauds has released four wax figures of actor and former WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. However, the one that stood out the most was the Las Vegas installment unveiled in 2022, which celebrated his Teremana tequila brand.
Billy Porter – Madame Tussauds New York
Another wax figure unveiled in 2023 was in honor of actor Billy Porter. To ensure the figure came out perfectly, Porter reportedly sat for nine hours so the creative team could capture every little detail. The outfit of choice for the wax figure was a replica of Porter’s blue jumpsuit and curtain hat at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
Nipsey Hussle – Atlanta’s Invent Fest
Most recently, the late rapper was honored with a wax figure at the 2020 Invent Fest in Atlanta, Georgia. The figurine was created by one of the participants involved in the festival’s activities. According to the creator, the figure was entered into the “Nipsey Hussle Business Grant Pitch Competition” hoping to win $100,000.
Honorable Mention:
Kamala Harris – Madame Tussauds New York
Of course, we couldn’t leave off Mrs. Kamala Harris, who made history as the first Vice President of the United States to have a wax figure created in Madame Tussauds. Paired with a replica of President Joe Biden, the figures were sculpted in 2021 and were featured in the museum’s “Oval Office” experience.
