Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” just became the anthem of the weekend, thanks to HBCU marching bands showcasing their skills all over the country.
Social media is buzzing as bands put their unique spins on Kendrick’s hit, and the hype is real.
It all started Thursday with Alabama State’s Mighty Marching Hornets rocking “Not Like Us” at Truist Park. Florida A&M’s Marching 100 followed with a snippet on ABC Saturday. Alcorn State’s Sounds Of Dyn-O-mite and Southern University’s Human Jukebox also delivered epic versions while mixing it with “Euphoria” at the National Battle of the Bands.
Every band brought something different, but the respect for Kendrick’s music was unanimous.
Social media lit up with praise and videos of the bands’ creative renditions, proving Kendrick’s song is a major hit at HBCU events.
