Rick Ross recently joined Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco on their Nightcap Summer Sessions live show, where he discussed this summer’s “20v1” rap feud involving Drake.
Shannon Sharpe brought up the events of the summer, saying, “Y’all had the summer going crazy.” Ross, however, quickly shut down any talk of a planned attack on Drake. “I’m gonna be honest, on some rap shit, it was no conspiracies,” Ross stated. “Rozay’s name was said, Rozay jumps off the porch. That’s what I do,” he added.
Things got heated after the release of the “We Don’t Trust You” mixtape by Metro Boomin’ and Future, where Kendrick Lamar took shots at Drake. After this, fans noticed that Ross had unfollowed Drake on social media. Ross later claimed that he did so because Drake had sent a cease-and-desist letter to French Montana, demanding the removal of his verse from French’s upcoming project.
Drake later released Kendrick Lamar diss “Push Ups,” where he also took direct shots at Ross.
In turn, the Miami rapper released his own diss, “Champagne Moments.” This led to a back-and-forth between the two rappers on social media, with each trolling the other.
Notably, The Game also chimed in with his own diss track aimed at Rick Ross. However, Ross chose not to engage.
On Nightcap, Ross explained his approach, saying, “Not responding is a response. When you a boss, you don’t need to respond to everything,” when asked how he decides who to engage with and who to ignore
