Today’s New Music Friday arrives just in time for the Labor Day Weekend, and there are plenty of vibes that are perfect for the eventful weekend.
This Friday is packed with new releases, with even gospel star Yolanda Adams delivering a new bop titled “Church Doors.” This upbeat faith track is sure to invoke the dancer in all of us, including “Power Book II: Ghost” star Woody McCain, who stunned fans with his moves while making a cameo in the video.
Elsewhere is rap, Big Sean has finally unveiled his highly anticipated album, “Better Me Than You.” The 21-track project was pushed back several times before finally debuting on August 30th. Much effort went into this body of work, with production from several hitmakers, including Turbo, Cash Cobain, and The Alchemist. Sean tapped a few collaborators for features on his sixth studio album, including Kodak Black, Bryson Tiller, and Gunna, who made an appearance on the standout “It Is What It Is.”

Florida star Doechii is representing for the ladies in hip-hop with her latest offering, “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” The 19-song project finds this beauty combining rap, R&B, alternative, and pop elements to deliver heavy bars and even flex her melodic vocals. Several of her fans have already dubbed “Alligator Bites Never Heal” one of the best rap albums of 2024.
