Sean Kingston Ordered to Pay $916,000 Over Luxury Watch Deal Gone Wrong

Sean Kingston is in hot water again, and this time, it’s going to cost him a whopping $916,000.

The “Beautiful Girls” singer has been slapped with a massive judgment after completely ignoring a lawsuit involving some seriously high-end watches.  According to court documents, the 34-year-old artist was hit with a default judgment on August 27th after he failed to respond to a lawsuit brought against him by luxury jeweler Dream Watch.  The company initially sought $1,054,107 in damages, claiming Kingston had contacted them in 2022 to purchase two luxury timepieces—a Richard Mille Model RM 65.01 Automatic and a Patek Philippe Calibre.

Dream Watch alleges that Kingston agreed to pay $534,000 for the Richard Mille and $378,000 for the Patek Philippe.  Things seemed to be going smoothly when a representative from Dream Watch even flew all the way from Malaysia to Kingston’s Los Angeles home in May 2022 to finalize the deal.  During this meeting, Kingston reportedly inspected the watches and confirmed the purchase for a total of $912,000.  He even promised to wire the payment immediately.  But that’s where everything fell apart.

Shockingly, Dream Watch claims that the money never showed up. Per the lawsuit, Kingston made one excuse after another, saying his initial wire transfer was blocked by his bank due to the large amount and later claiming his account had been frozen.  Despite these excuses, the payment never materialized, and Kingston eventually stopped responding altogether. The watches remained firmly in Kingston’s possession.

To make matters worse, the jeweler says Kingston even promised his mom would step in and make the payment, but that, too, never happened.  After months of no compensation, Dream Watch had no choice but to file for a default judgment when Kingston failed to show up in court.  The verdict was handed down while Kingston was actually behind bars in California, awaiting extradition to Florida on separate federal charges.

Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, still face serious federal charges for allegedly defrauding businesses out of over $1 million.  They’re accused of working out deals for luxury items, promising to pay, and then never delivering the funds.  Both Kingston and his mother have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud itself.
