Natasha Rothwell, best known for her roles in “Insecure” and “The White Lotus,” just announced she will adapt the viral “Who TF Did I Marry?” TikTok series created by Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson into a TV show.
Rothwell will not only executive produce through her company, Big Hattie Productions but will also portray Johnson in the lead role.
The TikTok series, shared over 50 videos, details Johnson’s marriage to Jerome McCoy, whom she claims lied about significant parts of his life. The story gained massive traction, with over 450 million impressions, and helped Johnson reach over 3 million followers in two weeks. McCoy denies the claims, but the story has drawn significant online interest.
After competing studios showed interest, Rothwell secured the rights to adapt the series. Big Hattie Productions, with newly appointed director of development Mary Sayama McHenry, will lead the project. Rothwell, also set to release the Hulu comedy “How to Die Alone” and return in “The White Lotus,” continues to build on her versatile career in Hollywood.
Tareasa Johnson, now represented by CAA, has transitioned from TikTok fame to Hollywood.
