Another NBA legend is set to be immortalized with his very own statue. Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade will join the exclusive club of basketball greats with a statue unveiling outside the Kaseya Center on October 27th. The Heat had hinted at this tribute back in January, and fans have been eagerly waiting for this moment to honor “Flash.”

“Dwyane was the face of this franchise forever, and I meant it,” Heat President Pat Riley stated earlier this year when the news was first announced. “Dwyane’s legacy is a towering one not only for the Miami Heat but for Miami-Wade County. I can’t think of a better way to honor him than by memorializing that legacy.”

The statue is the work of renowned sculptors Omri Amrany and Oscar León of Fine Art Studio Rotblatt Amrany, known for their masterpieces of basketball legends. Amrany’s impressive portfolio includes iconic statues like the “Michael Jordan Spirit” in Chicago, as well as tributes to Shaquille O’Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.

Drafted by the Miami Heat in 2003, Dwyane Wade quickly became the face of the franchise. His rookie year performance earned him a spot on the All-Rookie team, and his career only soared from there. Wade’s heroics led the Heat to their first NBA Championship in 2006, where he was named Finals MVP. And when he formed the unforgettable Big Three with LeBron James and Chris Bosh in 2010, Wade helped Miami secure back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.

In 2023, Wade was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
