Britney Spears Calls Out “Constant Gaslighting” By Ex Kevin Federline Ahead of His Explosive Memoir

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

Despite her sons being of legal age, Britney Spears will likely continue paying child support to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

Last week, Spears and Federline’s youngest son, Jayden, turned 18, and their oldest, Sean, is turning 19 next month.  However, according to reports, even though the two boys have become adults, the 42-year-old pop icon will still be financially responsible for Jayden and Sean due to a California law.

“Under California law, child support jurisdiction continues until the minor child reaches the age of 18, or if upon their 18th birthday, they have not yet graduated high school, it continues until they graduate high school, but in no event later than their 19th birthday,” Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan shared in a statement.

In Jayden’s situation, although he is now 18, his high school graduation isn’t expected until November.  Thus, Spears will reportedly continue making her $20,000 child support payments until this point.  But, sources close to Spears say that she isn’t bothered by the payments and is happy to support her sons.

Following Spears’ public meltdown in 2007, Federline gained sole custody of the boys.  A year later, Spears was put in a conservatorship and granted shared custody over Jayden and Sean.  However, the division wasn’t equal, as Federline received 70% custody in 2019.  Shortly after, the boys’ frequent supervised visits with Spears decreased until they finally decided not to visit their mother anymore.  In 2023, Jayden and Sean moved to Hawaii with Federline and his wife, Victoria Prince, and their two kids, Peyton and Jordan.
