Reports of the Ku Klux Klan distributing flyers spreading anti-Haitian sentiments in Springfield, Ohio, are sparking outrage online.
On Saturday, Noah Lanard, a reporter with the magazine Mother Jones, shared the terrifying flyer that the hate organization is currently handing out. Springfield has currently been the subject of bomb threats and panic thanks to unsubstantiated rumors regarding Haitian migrants stealing and eating resident’s pets. Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, have helped fuel such harmful rhetoric. Now, it appears that things are escalating.
“Foreigners & Haitians Out. There is no place in America for this filth! We don’t need more police. We need mass deportation. 1/4 of Springfield is already in poverty. Now 2 million dollars is being used to care for these beast of the fields,” the memo read. “Join us and stand against forced immigration.”
Elsewhere on the note, the organization claimed that “3rd world countries bring 3rd world diseases” and urged people wanting to join the KKK to reach out to their Kentucky office. It’s unclear if police are involved following the flyers’ being distributed. However, social media users are calling for action while slamming Trump and Vance for their role in pushing such a harmful agenda.
