GloRilla is having a phenomenal 2024, and it just got greater with the announcement of her debut album.
On Thursday, the Memphis superstar dropped the album cover and release date for her first full-length project, “Glorious.” The album is slated to drop on October 11th, and the expectations are high.
The 15-track album follows Glo’s well-received “Ehhthang Ehhthang” mixtape, which was unveiled in April 2024 ahead of her tour with Megan Thee Stallion. The 12-song tape kicked off with “Yeah Glo” as the intro and included her hit, “Wanna Be” with Meg, and “All Dere” featuring her labelmate, Moneybagg Yo. While many fans received “Ehhthang Ehhthang” as an album. Glo made it clear that it was merely a preview of what she had planned for her LP.
The rapper has yet to reveal which features will be on the album. However, “Wanna Be” did receive a Cardi B remix, which could show up on “Glorious.” What is known for sure is that the lead single is “Hollon,” a club anthem that the 25-year-old has been teasing for several weeks. The single finally dropped on streaming platforms Friday, and her supporters took to social media to praise the track, which did not disappoint.
With “Glorious,” it will also be interesting to see which women Glo chooses to bring along for the ride. Having already collaborated with Megan, Latto, Cardi, and the late Gangsta Boo, it’s long been evident that she is undoubtedly allied with her fellow women in hip-hop. Such unity will likely be felt in several aspects of Glo’s forthcoming era.
As we await the arrival of this highly anticipated album, there is no doubt that GloRilla will deliver.
