Legendary hype man Fatman Scoop tragically passed away last month after collapsing on stage during a performance.
Connecticut’s Chief Medical Officer has confirmed that Scoop’s death was due to “hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,” a natural cause.
Hypertensive heart disease happens when long-term high blood pressure puts extra stress on the heart, eventually leading to serious complications. Atherosclerosis is the buildup of plaque in the arteries, which narrows them and blocks blood flow.
Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, was just 56 when he passed. His contributions to music and the energy he brought to every performance will be missed by fans worldwide.
