It looks like family drama has gone public for Boosie Badazz and his daughter Iviona. The rapper’s comments about his daughter’s sexuality during an interview at the Revolt TV Conference have sparked a strong reaction from Iviona, who took to Instagram to share her side of the story.
During his interview with Yung Miami, Boosie was asked about his daughter’s sexuality and how he handled the situation when she came out as gay. His response raised eyebrows and stirred up controversy. “So your daughter came out and told you she was gay. It was nothing,” Boosie began. “I mean, she still can’t bring her situation to our house. My daughter is wrong. Well, why is she wrong? Because I don’t want it to contaminate her other six, seven sisters who look up to her.”
Boosie explained that he’s worried about the influence Iviona’s lifestyle might have on her siblings. “I want them to bring me grandchildren the right way,” he said. “If I want grandchildren the right way, that’s what I’m going to stand on. You know, if I don’t want my other little girl to look at daddy and say, ‘What’s that, daddy?’ to somebody she looks up to, it’s not going to come around.”
Boosie’s stance is rooted in his upbringing, he shared, noting that his father and grandfather also did not tolerate certain behaviors. “My grandpa didn’t let it. My daddy didn’t let it. And I didn’t let it. I just hope the one under me, when they take this role, they don’t let it,” Boosie said. He wrapped up his thoughts by reaffirming his traditional beliefs, “Because that’s not what our family believes in. Like you say, we Southern Baptists.”

Iviona, however, wasn’t having it. Clearly upset by her father’s remarks, she posted a lengthy video on Instagram to address the situation. “Man, I really don’t even know where to start for real, because this ain’t even my character,” she began. “I don’t really be getting on here and giving y’all what y’all want, but I feel like my daddy want me to give y’all what y’all want, and he want me to give him what he want as well.”
She expressed frustration that her father continues to publicly speak about her sexuality despite her attempts to remain silent on the issue. “The whole world know that, and it been about two years now that I be quiet, I keep quiet on the shit,” Iviona said. “I wouldn’t say nothing, you know, I just go with the flow.”
Iviona was particularly upset by Boosie’s use of the word “contaminate” when referring to her influence on her siblings. “If you know me, this shit make me so mad,” she said. “If you know me, I love and respect my siblings with everything in me, and they respect me and love me with everything in them.”
Iviona went on to recount her own experiences and the hurtful things her father has said to her in the past. “You keep speaking on me being gay, you keep doing interviews, and I don’t say nothing, right? The first-ever interview you did, you said, you found out I was gay, that I like girls and I had a girlfriend, from a picture that went viral, that was a lie, I let that slide, I never addressed it,” she recalled.
Iviona also mentioned a previous incident where Boosie called her a derogatory term. “You found out I was gay, a year before that, the incident happened in Jamaica when I was a gay b-word, when you called me a gay b-word, so if the world really knew all the things and the hurtful things you told me before, and I forgave you, you wouldn’t even understand.”
Despite the pain, Iviona said she still loves her father and tries to see the good in him, but the ongoing public criticism has taken its toll. “At the end of the day, I’m your blood. I am your daughter,” she said, holding back tears. “Every time I turn around, it’s like you bashing me, it’s like you bashing me.”
She expressed disappointment that Boosie prefers to discuss their issues publicly rather than addressing them in private. “I feel like I’ve done everything in my power to understand that this is my father regardless, like, I’m gonna accept him and love him for who he is,” she said. “But emotionally, mentally, you suck, you suck, bruh, and I know you suck with that.”
Iviona also pointed out the double standards in Boosie’s behavior, noting that he has a song about two women kissing in the backseat, which he has performed for years. “You got a whole song about two girls kissing in the backseat,” she stated. “If that ain’t contaminating, then what is?”
Iviona concluded her video by saying she would no longer speak on the matter publicly unless her father stops bringing it up in interviews. “I’m tired of sparing, I’m tired of sparing, and I’m tired of just feeling like I’m just letting you play with me because you’re my pops,” she said. “I love you regardless, I’m always gonna love you, but there’s no way I’m gonna keep letting you speak on me, and I’m not gonna speak on you.”

The emotional video has since gone viral, with fans showing support for Iviona while also hoping for a peaceful resolution between the father and daughter. It’s clear that despite the challenges, she remains hopeful for a better relationship with her dad.
