Doja Cat took the stage at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, NYC this past weekend, and she wasn’t just there to perform.
With a massive crowd of 60,000 people, Doja used her platform to spotlight some of the world’s most pressing issues. After her performance, she spoke candidly about the struggles in places like Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and the Congo.
“Millions of men, women, and children in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, the Congo, and all across the world are suffering,” she said. “In times like these, it’s important to remember that together, we have the power to bring change, love, light, and hope to those who need it most.”
Teaming up with Global Citizen, Doja worked to raise awareness and inspire action for these regions, reminding everyone that we hold the power to make a difference.
“We can’t stop now,” she urged, calling on everyone to continue using their voices to ensure that people fleeing violence receive essential needs like food, shelter, and education.
She closed with a powerful message: “There is beauty and strength in all of you who are watching this and who chose to be here tonight. This is our time to put that strength into what matters most—and that is life, right now.”
