New Music Friday is here yet again, and several singles and releases are must-haves for your weekend playlist.
Friday marks a somber day for Rich Homie Quan fans, as the album he was working on prior to his death was unveiled to the world. “Forever Goin In” is also significant, as it marks the late rapper’s 35th birthday and includes 35 songs. The project includes verses from Plies, 2 Chainz, and more. The rapper sadly passed away on September 5th, with his death ruled an accidental overdose.
Lil Durk returned with a new single, “Monitoring Me.” This newest offering finds Durk reunited with super producer Southside, who delivers one of his hardest beats of the year. In “Monitoring Me,” the Chicago star deviates from his slower melodies, opting for heavy-hitting bars instead. This single will likely appear on his forthcoming album, “Deep Thoughts,” which is due out on October 18th.
Elsewhere on the R&B side, Victoria Monet unveiled her highly anticipated “Jaguar II: Deluxe.” The double disk includes ten new tracks, including “D**kAtNight,” “Don’t Sleep,” and the previously released single, “SOS,” featuring R&B icon Usher.
Whether you’re a hip-hop head, R&B Connoisseur, or somewhere in between, there is plenty to listen to.
