New York Jets Trade for Davante Adams

After the New York Jets’ disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills Monday night, marked by three failed red zone attempts, the team made a major move Tuesday morning. Wide receiver Davante Adams is heading to the Jets in exchange for a third-round pick, which could escalate to a second-round pick.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Adams was already spotted at the Jets’ facility Tuesday. He will be reuniting with his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, joining a receiving corps that includes Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

Adams had requested a trade two weeks ago, and though there were doubts about whether it would happen, the Jets sealed the deal today. The team is hoping Adams will suit up for Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, per SNY’s Connor Hughes.

While Adams has been dealing with a hamstring injury for the past three weeks, it appears he’ll be ready to play within the next two weeks. Jets fans have plenty to celebrate, as the Rodgers-Adams duo was electric in 2020, combining for a league-best 18 touchdowns.

The 31-year-old receiver had an impressive run in Las Vegas, recording 221 catches for 2,689 yards and 23 touchdowns in 37 games. Now, he’s set to bring his talent to New York.
