Radio personality DJ Envy is the latest celebrity to come forward to defend Diddy amid his ongoing legal issues. During a conversation with his wife, Gia Casey, on their joint “The Casey Crew” podcast, the couple spoke on a hot topic that captured headlines and sparked debates amongst the general public.
The conversation started with Envy asking Gia about Diddy’s situation. She responded thoughtfully, stating that she believes in knowing the facts before passing judgment. Gia maintained a neutral stance, emphasizing that it’s important to let the judicial system do their job while not jumping to conclusions based on hearsay.
Envy, however, gave a more direct response. He said that despite Diddy’s high-profile image, he believes the Bad Boys mogul is being treated unfairly. Envy did acknowledge that Diddy is a “freaky n*gga,” but he doesn’t think he should be condemned for that.
“He is a freaky n*gga, like freaky freaky freaky,” Envy said. “The fact that he has a thousand bottles of baby oil and lube just means he just like to get sh*t popping and there’s nothing wrong, there’s nothing illegal about that.”
Additionally, Envy drew a comparison between Diddy, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and OJ Simpson, noting that they were granted bail despite their heinous crimes, yet Diddy was denied one. He highlighted the impact of the situation falling on his children, who are currently left without their mother, Kim Porter, who passed away a few years ago.
“I don’t like the fact that they didn’t give him a bond,” Envy added. “He has three kids without a mom right. He has two twins that are 17 years old that don’t have their dad right now and probably won’t have their dad for the next two years until the trial is over. I feel like he should have got a bond and been able to fight this outside.”
He continued, “Harvey Weinstein had a bond. Bill Cosby had a bond, OJ had a bond and people could say OJ ran. He took off and they chased him and he still had a bond. Now, in this society, it feels like you’re guilty and you have to prove yourself to be innocent but it should be the other way.”
Even though he came to his defense, Envy made it clear that if Diddy is found guilty of his accusations, he should receive time behind bars.
“If he did do the things that those women said he did and those men said that he did, he should go to jail,” Envy stated.
