Nearly a year after a jury awarded $150 million to two Georgia election workers in a defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani, the former attorney for Donald Trump has been ordered to surrender his New York City apartment and other prized possessions. The ruling comes after Giuliani was found liable for spreading false claims about ballot counters Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss following Trump’s 2020 election loss.

Federal Judge Lewis Liman gave Giuliani seven days to hand over the property, which includes his luxury Manhattan apartment, once listed for around $6 million. Additional assets include over two dozen expensive watches, sports memorabilia like a Joe DiMaggio-signed Yankees jersey, and furniture.

Freeman and Moss, the election workers who were targeted by Giuliani’s baseless conspiracy theories, will also benefit from $2 million that Giuliani claims Trump’s 2020 campaign owes him. However, Liman delayed ruling on other key assets, including three World Series rings that Giuliani’s son Andrew says are his and a condo in Palm Beach, Florida.

This legal blow follows Giuliani’s disbarment in both New York and Washington, D.C., as his involvement in Trump’s post-election efforts continues to bring significant consequences. Although Giuliani is no longer on Trump’s payroll, the former president hosted a fundraiser in 2023 to help cover his legal fees.
