HUBLOT and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami have teamed up again to release the MP-15 Tourbillion Sapphire Rainbow. This timepiece is reimagined from Murakami’s iconic smiling flower motif, transforming it into a sapphire sculpture featuring vibrant gemstones. As a limited-edition watch, there are only 20 MP-15 Tourbillion Sapphire Rainbow timepieces available, adding to its exclusivity.
The MP-15 case, crafted from a single block of sapphire crystal, is 42 mm in size but stands out with its chromatic flower design. The case features twelve petals outlined in polished titanium and 444 gemstones, including rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, blue topazes, and yellow or orange sapphires.
However, outside of its eye-catching appeal, the MP-15 has impressive mechanics. The timepiece is powered by the HUB9015 calibre, with its innovative central flying tourbillon. The high-performance technology can be seen through the sapphire crystal, and Murakami’s signature twinkling eyes and smile add a playful touch to this complex accessory.
The timepiece symbolizes the friendship and shared vision between HUBLOT and Takashi Murakami. Since their first collaboration in 2021, the two have found a way to fuse their creative ideas to bring freshness to their respective art forms. From the initial Classic Fusion models to a unique series of NFTs, their dynamic partnership thrives.
Nonetheless, if you’re interested in snagging one of these luxurious timepieces, they’re currently going for $374,000 at select authorized dealers, upon request, and HUBLOT boutiques.
