Kim Kardashian is sparking conversations yet again, this time for a series of controversial moves involving her family and political connections. Just one day after shutting down her 8-year-old son Saint West’s YouTube channel over anti-Kamala Harris content, Kim took to Instagram to publicly wish Ivanka Trump a happy birthday, calling her “the sweetest.”
The situation started when Saint West, Kim’s son with ex-husband Kanye West, posted two videos that took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris. The posts included crude imagery and negative language, including one cartoon image showing Harris “stepping in s–t” and another clip from Saved by the Bell that overlaid words like “Dumb,” “Stupid,” “Crazy,” and “Dangerous” across the VP’s face. The account, under the handle @TheGoatSaint, was taken down shortly after the videos gained attention online, with users now seeing the message, “This page isn’t available.”
It seems Kim was quick to act, following through on a promise she made to Saint earlier this year when she allowed him to start his own YouTube channel. In September, she posted a “contract” that Saint had to sign, outlining strict rules about what he could and couldn’t post. The contract stipulated that Saint needed to get her approval for any content he uploaded, and that she had the power to delete or privatize the channel if he broke any rules. True to her word, Kim appears to have pulled the plug as soon as the anti-Harris videos went live.
Political tension in Kim’s family is no secret. While Kim has openly supported Democrats and progressive causes, her ex-husband Kanye West has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, even hinting at admiration for controversial figures and expressing a desire to run for president himself. Kanye’s political leanings are often at odds with Kim’s, and it’s not the first time their differing beliefs have led to family drama.
Fueling the speculation around her politics, Kim’s post celebrating Ivanka Trump’s birthday came just a day after her son’s YouTube account was deleted. In her Instagram story, she called Ivanka “the sweetest,” a message that some fans saw as a subtle nod to her own complex political alliances. Kim has met with both Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump, and Kamala Harris in recent years, navigating relationships on both sides of the aisle to further her criminal justice reform work.
The timing of Kim’s birthday message for Ivanka has left fans wondering if there’s more to her political connections than meets the eye.
