Back in December 2012 Josh Brent and fellow Cowboys team mate Jerry Brown were involved in a deadly car crash that left Brown dead. To refresh your memory, Josh Brent, Jerry Brown and friends were partying at Dallas hotspot Prive Nightclub. After the club, Police say Brent and his passenger (Brown) left. Reports say Brent was driving his car at a high rate of speed at 2:21 am when he hit the outside curb on Route 114, causing the vehicle to flip at least once and then come to rest in the middle of a service road. An eye witness stopped after noticing the crash and noticed Brent had already exited the mangled vehicle and was walking around while Brown remained in the vehicle. The eye witness also said that she had to beg, plead and coerce Brent to help Brown out of the car and he only did so after going to retrieve his cell phone.

Brent was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He was released on $500,000 bail. He later retired from football in July.

After 2 days of deliberation Josh Brent was found guilty. He could face up to 20 years in prison. The toxicologist says Brent had 17 drinks prior to crash and had a alcohol content of .189.

Read all of the details HERE.

Though I feel bad for Josh Brent, he should have known better to get behind the wheel after 17 drinks. I don’t know why people think they’re exempt from driving drunk.
