Former Philadelphia Eagers star Jason Kelce is known as a gentle giant of sorts, but when one fan crossed the line, the retired athlete refused to let it slide.
On Saturday, Jason attended the Penn State vs. Ohio State game to participate in ESPN’s College Gameday. As he walked through the crowd, fans could be heard calling his name and asking for photos and fistbumps. However, one man took it too far and began harassing Jason unprovoked. Specifically, the troll yelled, “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift?”
The 36-year-old immediately stopped walking and confronted the heckler, who was filming. Jason snatched his phone and slammed it onto the ground as the crowd looked on.
Travis and Swift went public with their relationship in September 2023. Since then, they’ve been both praised and criticized. Some believed Swift was getting too much coverage while attending Kansas City Chiefs games at the beginning of their relationship, though others felt that this publicity was a good thing. There is also the belief that their romance is nothing more than a publicity stunt. No matter the truth, it’s clear Jason was frustrated by the nasty comment about his brother and the singer.
Neither Jason nor Travis has spoken out about the situation, though they’ll likely save that conversation for the forthcoming episode of their “New Heights” podcast.
