Deadline Approaching: November 4th is the Last Day for Americans to Claim Part of $29.55 Million ZoomInfo Data Privacy Settlement

Americans have just hours left to claim a portion of the $29.55 million ZoomInfo settlement following a class action lawsuit over consumer privacy violations.

Despite not admitting wrongdoing, ZoomInfo agreed to a settlement that impacts residents in four states: California, Illinois, Indiana, and Nevada. The settlement allocates funds by state, with California’s share at $14.23 million, resulting in payouts between $108.43 and $216.86 per claimant; Illinois receiving $11.69 million, with amounts ranging from $145.93 to $291.85; Indiana allocated $2.3 million, translating to payments between $740.77 and $1,481.54; and Nevada receiving $1.33 million, offering the highest per-claimant sums of $971.24 to $1,942.47. These amounts are estimates and may vary based on the final number of claims filed.

Eligibility depends on when claimants’ information first appeared on ZoomInfo.com, with specific timeframes for each state: California from January 9th, 2020, to March 27th, 2024; Illinois from April 15th, 2020, to March 27th, 2024; and both Indiana and Nevada from March 27th, 2022, to March 27th, 2024. The deadline to file a claim is November 4th, with the final settlement approval hearing set for November 21st, 2024.

Additional settlements are available for Americans impacted by similar breaches. Paycom, for example, is offering up to $4,200 per claimant after a $900,000 settlement related to a data breach, with claims due by November 7. Ticketmaster also suffered a major breach in 2024, affecting over 500 million users; the hack, linked to cyber group ShinyHunters, exposed data stored on a third-party cloud system, possibly Snowflake. Finally, Oracle America, Inc. faces a $115 million settlement after allegations that it collected and sold personal data without user consent, affecting users whose information was gathered from August 19th, 2018, onward. With these substantial settlements, eligible Americans should act quickly to secure their share before the approaching deadlines.
