R&B singer Ashanti surprised fans and friends when she sang “Happy Birthday” to her husband, Nelly, during his milestone 50th birthday celebration.
The heartfelt gesture occurred during an intimate birthday celebration attended by their loved ones. Both dressed in gold, along with attendees, Ashanti grabbed the mic to deliver a touching rendition of the birthday classic to her partner as a large cake was ushered in.
Videos from the celebration captured the touching moment, with Nelly beaming as she sang to him. This intimate shindig followed Nelly’s Western-themed bash on Halloween night, a pregame of his birthday bash. Ashanti was also by his side in her best cowgirl gear.
The celebration highlights a significant year for both stars. In June, Ashanti gave birth to the couple’s first child. That same month, she revealed that she and the “Air Force Ones” star had secretly married in 2023, years after they first began dating in the early 2000s. After spending some time apart and dating other people, they rekindled their romance in 2022.
