Another Monday, another day for Kevin Durant to remind NBA fans where they stand. The Phoenix Suns announced that Durant is dealing with a calf strain and will be out for two weeks. The 8-1 Suns received this news while Durant is having an MVP-level season, averaging 27 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game. The 14-time All-Star is also shooting 43% from beyond the arc—his best in years. Although this injury comes at a tough time, it’s nothing Durant can’t overcome.
One thing KD has shown he truly doesn’t care about? Sports gambling. Sportsbooks pour so much money into professional sports that it’s impossible to ignore the influence, but Durant makes it clear that he’s not here to play for anyone’s bet slip. Fans, though, continue to be invested, often tracking every point, assist, and rebound for their wagers.
This week, LeBron James had a moment that spoke directly to that culture. During a game, a fan yelled at James to grab “one more rebound” to cash in on a parlay. LeBron heard him loud and clear, grabbed the rebound, and then pointed to the fan to let him know the mission was accomplished.
“He definitely got my attention when he yelled at me,” LeBron told the media afterward. “I was like, ‘What?’ and he was like, ‘Why don’t you rebound, one more.’ So, I got one more rebound and pointed at him so he knew.”

As NBA Twitter buzzed about LeBron’s playful interaction, fans couldn’t resist dragging KD into the conversation. On November 1, Durant had wrapped up a game against the Los Angeles Clippers with 18 points—much to the disappointment of bettors. He tweeted afterward, “Great dub Suns, and for my parlayers, better luck next time lol.” The tongue-in-cheek comment solidified KD’s stance: he’s not here to pad stat sheets for bets.

The LeBron clip prompted fans to tag Durant and, in true KD fashion, he didn’t hold back. He responded bluntly, telling fans to “get a job” and making it clear he wasn’t interested in catering to their gambling woes. Love him or hate him, Durant’s unfiltered honesty remains unmatched.
Bro you aren’t tough. You got no game off the court & you would be ring less if you didn’t join the warriors. Imma throw your Christmas KD’s in the lake near me later you slender man lookin ass n*gga

That’s dope cause @KDTrey5 ain’t for the fans like that. Most of these overpaid assholes don’t care about any of the fans who buy shoes, jerseys, & low key support them.
