Rapper Ferg just got real on his latest track, “Pool,” from his album DAROLD, revealing the painful childhood trauma he’s carried for years.

In the song, he raps about being molested at a swimming pool when he was just nine years old—a moment that left him confused and filled with guilt.

In a recent Breakfast Club interview, Ferg broke down the experience: “It was weird and it was one second, but I was like, why?” He shared how an older individual touched him at the pool, and at the time, he didn’t know how to process it. Feeling “weird,” he confided in his cousin but kept it bottled up for years. It wasn’t until watching Precious in 2009 that he felt ready to tell his mom.

“At ten I was drowned and touched when I was in the pool/All the breath left my body where I couldn’t move/Violated, hand on my private by a bigger dude,” he rapped.

He went on to describe the anger he felt and the violent action he wanted to take against the person who hurt him.

Ferg said it took him eight years to write “Pool,” but he knew it was important to share his story.

“This sh*t is going on everywhere, and people are not just gonna talk about it,” he said. “I didn’t make that happen to me. That sh*t ain’t mine to be tryna hold inside.”

Ferg’s raw honesty on this track is a powerful reminder that speaking out is key to healing from deep trauma.

Ferg discusses the track around 15-min mark
