Rapper ScarLip has taken to social media to share a shocking revelation about being scammed by a well-known influencer.

The “This Is New York” performer took to Twitter Saturday morning to share a bit of her experience. She would not identify the individual despite fans urging her to.

“This one influencer scammed me crazy and ya’ll love that person so much but I don’t say nothing lol,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet.

It’s unclear if this mystery person approached Scar under the guise of a collaboration opportunity or promised to elevate her brand somehow. However, Scar may have trusted the influencer’s reputation and continued doing business with them. One unclear factor is what exactly Scar lost in the scheme. While one can assume that the 23-year-old forfeited a substantial amount of money until she shares more details, we can only speculate.

Several notable social media stars have been called out in recent years for scamming people looking to work with them. This year, former Nebraska beauty queen and influencer Elizabeth Friesen was accused of getting her followers to invest in an online storefront scam, costing people thousands of dollars.

Despite the setback, Scar remains optimistic, emphasizing her commitment to her hip-hop career.
