A Florida road is making national headlines after Miami-Dade commissioners approved renaming a four-mile stretch of Palm Avenue in Hialeah as “President Donald J. Trump Avenue.”
The decision solidifies the former president’s enduring influence in South Florida, where he remains a widely celebrated figure among his supporters. Hialeah, a city with a strong conservative base, overwhelmingly supported Trump in the last election, with the former president securing 75% of the vote.
The renaming was championed by Hialeah Mayor Esteban “Steve” Bovo, who initially proposed the change and presented Trump with a ceremonial street sign during a rally. Miami-Dade Commissioner Kevin Cabrera expressed his support, emphasizing Trump’s legacy in the community.
“By naming Palm Avenue—a vital artery that runs through the heart of Hialeah—we are forever immortalizing President Trump’s legacy,” Cabrera said. “Future generations who traverse this street will be reminded of his fight for the principles of freedom, prosperity, and opportunity.”
