Tina Knowles is setting the record straight after a screenshot appeared to show her liking an Instagram post about the lawsuit accusing her son-in-law, Jay-Z, of rape.

On Monday, the 70-year-old matriarch of the Knowles family took to Instagram to address the situation, writing, “I was hacked! As you all know, I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know that it is not me!”

The post in question originated from the ABC7 Chicago Instagram account, where a screenshot appeared to show Ms. Tina among the “likes” on a post announcing that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs had been named in a civil lawsuit accusing them of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The anonymous accuser alleges the assault took place at an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards.

Originally filed in October with only Diddy named, the lawsuit was amended on Sunday to include Jay-Z. The rapper has denied the allegations and dismissed the lawsuit as an extortion attempt by attorney Tony Buzbee. In a public statement, Jay-Z said, “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!
