During a recent interview with “Big Boy TV” last week, the 52-year-old actor and comedian reflected on his career and even shared some interesting updates about a few beloved projects. After many conversations surrounding the future of the “Scary Movie” franchise, Wayans has come forward to confirm the sixth installment will be released In 2026. You might remember the issues that followed the franchise after it was allegedly “stolen” by Harvey Weinstein. However, Wayans has assured fans that everything has changed for the better.
“People need comedy,” Wayans said before discussing how his family of creators had mended their relationships with producers involved in the project. “We have a great working relationship, and we’re going to make a classic.”
As if the announcement of a new “Scary Movie” film wasn’t enough, elsewhere in the interview, Wayans also revealed a sequel to another classic, 1996’s “Don’t Be A Menace In South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood.” The idea spontaneously came about during the interview when Big Boy made a playful reference to the film after Marlon reminded him of his character. It’s unknown when that film may be released, but Wayans expressed interest in developing sequels to all of the family’s classic comedies.
