Jamie Foxx is speaking out following an altercation that recently occurred during his birthday party that reportedly required him to get stitches.
Early Sunday morning, the 57-year-old actor and comedian took to Instagram to share an update with his followers after the incident, which took place on Friday at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, California. At the time, Foxx’s spokesperson revealed that the Academy Award-winning star was injured and struck in the mouth when “someone from another table” threw a glass in his direction.
Reports stated that the Beverly Hills Police Department was called and officers arrived on the scene around 10:00 p.m. to investigate the possible assault claim. However, it was later determined that the alleged assault with a deadly weapon was inaccurate, and ruled that the incident was a physical altercation between the two parties. Additionally, no arrests were made at the scene.
Days later, Foxx addressed the situation on social media, stating that “the devil is busy.” But, despite the challenges he continues to face, Foxx clarified that he’s “too blessed to be stressed.”
In the caption, Foxx started by condemning the devil for attempting to cause harm in his life and confirmed that he’s “built for it.” He also took a moment to thank everyone who supported and was inspired by his recent Netflix special “What Had Happened Was.”
“The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness… but they don’t know that you’re built for it…the lights have been shining bright,” he wrote. “Huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by “What Had Happened Was”… number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul.”
For a while now, Foxx has been experiencing multiple life hurdles. During the special, the actor revealed that he had suffered a near-fatal stroke last April while filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta. He stated that the medical emergency involved brain bleeding that ultimately led to a stroke that nearly ended his life.
