Travis Hunter Donates NIL Earnings to Support Colorado Teammates [Video]

Travis Hunter, the Heisman Trophy-winning cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is making headlines for his generosity. According to Deion Sanders Jr., son of Colorado’s head coach Deion Sanders, Hunter uses his name, image, and likeness (NIL) earnings to support his teammates.

During a recent episode of the Zero 2 Sixty podcast, Sanders Jr. revealed that despite being one of the most valuable athletes in college sports, Hunter receives no NIL payments from Colorado’s collective. Instead, he donates his earnings to ensure his teammates are compensated.

“He’s one of the biggest donors to the collective,” Sanders Jr. explained. “He’s paying at least 10-15 guys’ NILs on the team.”

Hunter’s selflessness is particularly noteworthy given his NIL valuation. Per On3, the 21-year-old is ranked second in NIL valuations at $5.2 million, trailing only his Colorado teammate, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who sits at $6.2 million.

This year, Hunter signed high-profile deals with NerdWallet in September and Adidas earlier this month, adding to his growing list of endorsements.

The star cornerback is projected to be a top-five pick in the NFL Draft, but Hunter remains grounded despite his achievements. Speaking to Complex, he reflected on his journey: “Young Travis definitely would’ve never believed in the position I’m in right now. I would’ve told ’em to keep going. Stick to your dreams and don’t let the outside affect your dreams.”
