Karen Huger, star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, has been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) after a two-day trial.

Along with DUI, she was found guilty of negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. However, she was acquitted of reckless driving. In a twist that’s raising eyebrows, newly released body camera footage from the incident isn’t doing Karen any favors.

The footage from the March 2024 night, shown in court, revealed the reality star slurring her speech, cursing at officers, and refusing to take a breathalyzer or field sobriety test. In one video, Karen is heard telling a police officer, “I’m lit,” while being escorted into the jail.  Earlier that evening, she crossed a median and struck street signs after having dinner with friends.

The 61-year-old’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 29th, 2025 and she could be facing up to two years in prison. Her attorney, A. Scott Bolden, said they were “disappointed in the jury’s verdict” but respect it and plan to pursue an appeal. In Maryland, first-time DUI offenders face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. A second offense could result in up to two years behind bars.
