50 Cent Clashes With A Louisiana Senator Over Property Purchases: “Don’t Hold Your Breath Buddy”

50 Cent is no stranger to finding himself intertwined with controversy, and his latest real estate ventures in Shreveport, Louisiana have led to a heated situation with state senator Sam Jenkins. Lately, 50 has turned his focus to expanding his portfolio, especially when it comes to property in the city. He recently leased a major space dedicated to his film and television studio and is currently looking at the former Expo Hall/Stageworks and sections of the Red River Entertainment District.

However, Jenkins shared his opinions on the purchases and his reservations on 50’s impact on the city. During his interview with The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate, Jenkins urged the city to be cautious and asked them to “pump the breaks a little bit” on approving 50’s plans.

“Let’s try to see what else is out there,” Jenkins said. “This is about the city and the responsibility of the city and city council… to make sure they are answerable to our citizens about what we’re doing with those assets down there.”

Of course, his statement didn’t sit well with 50, who immediately took to social media to defend his investments and question Jenkins’ motives.

“Sam Jenkins must not want things to turn around in Shreveport,” he wrote on Instagram. “Who would not do a deal to wait for an imaginary deal to come? Or maybe he just lacks faith in me, what do you think?”

Additionally, 50 also shared a news clip addressing the situation and continued to troll Jenkins, saying, “I don’t understand why this man thinks I would come to talk to him after he set this tom. Don’t hold your breath buddy.” He followed up with another post, “Tell Sam I said, whether he like it or not I’m coming to Shreveport LOL. ALL ROADS LEAD TO SHREVEPORT.”

Nonetheless, Jenkins later came forward to clarify his statement and said that he’s open to hearing out 50’s plans if he has the “finances” to back it up.

“I don’t think when you’re talking about your future that there’s anything imaginary about it,” Jenkins said to KSLA. “As I stated, we have other projects that are on the books. These are not imaginary. If 50 Cent Jackson has a plan and has the finances and the skill set to implement that, I’m open to listen to it. As I said, this is not a personal issue with me. It’s about business.”
