On the latest episode of her Over It radio series, Summer Walker opened up about the importance Ciara has had in her life, especially during a dark period. During the heartfelt moment, Summer gave the 39-year-old singer her flowers for always being a guiding light and extending her wisdom.
“I just want to say this real quick, how me and you met, I just want to shout out the big sister, the mentor, that you are,” Summer began. “You truly are a girl’s girl, if anyone ever had to wonder.”
Summer also recounted a particular time when Ciara stepped in to stand as a friend and support system while she was publicly feuding with the father of her child.
“I was crashing out, down bad, about my baby daddy,” Summer continued. “You called me and reached out. You was like, ‘Girl, no, don’t act like that. Don’t do all that. God will take care of everything in the end. Just focus on your career and being a great mom.’ And I just want to say, I appreciate that.”
For those unaware, Summer has had her share of public disagreements. Her previous relationship with music producer London On Da Track, the father of her first child, drew significant attention due to the strong words and constant allegations exchanged between the two. In contrast, her relationship with the father of her twins, LVRD Pharoh, ended much more peacefully, with both managing to keep their split private.
Ciara warmly accepted Summer’s kind words, responding, “I appreciate you, and that’s so sweet. You know I’m gonna always be here for you, whenever you call.”
