Jay-Z is keeping the pressure on attorney Tony Buzbee, demanding that he face sanctions for the false rape allegation filed against him.
In his latest legal motion, the rap mogul, through his high-powered lawyer Alex Spiro, accuses Buzbee of skipping even the most basic investigative steps before filing the bombshell lawsuit. The woman, identified as “Jane Doe,” alleged that the Roc Nation founder and Diddy drugged and raped her after the 2000 MTV VMA Awards when she was just 13 years old. Jay-Z’s legal team points out several inconsistencies in the accuser’s story that should have been immediately questioned.
One key discrepancy highlighted in the filing is the claim that the assault took place at a “large white residence with a gated U-shaped driveway,” about 20 minutes from the VMAs. However, Jay-Z was photographed at a nightclub in Manhattan shortly after the award ceremony, contradicting her timeline. Furthermore, the accuser’s claim that her father picked her up after the assault is disputed, with the 55-year-old pointing out that the trip would have taken 10 hours, something her father would likely remember.
Jay-Z also disputes her claim of watching the VMAs on a Jumbotron outside Radio City Music Hall, showing that no such screen existed. Finally, the accuser’s supposed conversation with Benji Madden at the after-party is refuted by Madden’s rep, who confirmed he was not even in New York that night.
Buzbee has fired back, accusing Jay-Z’s team of desperation and claiming their filings are full of “lies and half-truths,” vowing they won’t be intimidated.
