Daniel Liburdi, a Miami socialite known for his lavish lifestyle and extravagant parties, has been indicted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Florida for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and money laundering. The indictment also names three other individuals allegedly involved in a scheme that raked in over $128 million.

Liburdi, 35, has become infamous on Miami’s social scene for hosting over-the-top parties at his multimillion-dollar Hibiscus Island mansion. According to federal prosecutors, the group used fraudulent applications to obtain merchant processing accounts, enabling them to accept credit and debit card payments to support a high-risk e-commerce enterprise. The scheme reportedly involved deceptive sales tactics and laundering the proceeds through conspirator-controlled bank accounts.

The ill-gotten gains funded an opulent lifestyle, including the purchase of luxury properties. Among the assets listed in the indictment are three mansions on Hibiscus Island and a fourth property in St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The most notable purchase is a $40 million mansion at 101 North Hibiscus Drive, featuring seven bedrooms, a gym, a steam room, a yoga terrace, and a private dock.

Liburdi, who frequently flaunted his wealth on Instagram with photos of yachts, helicopters, and Ferraris, also faced backlash from neighbors on Hibiscus Island. Residents filed an emergency motion in December 2024, alleging he hosted “large-scale, organized events” with commercial-grade sound systems, fireworks, and private security, causing traffic congestion and disturbing the peace. Law enforcement was reportedly called to his property 13 times.

Other properties tied to the alleged scheme include a $13 million mansion at 269 North Hibiscus Drive and a $15 million home at 205 North Hibiscus Drive, which is currently available for rent at $37,000 per month.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has stated that the defendants could face significant jail time and the forfeiture of the homes and funds linked to the scheme. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam J. Duso.
