The 95-foot vessel that he rented caught fire while docked behind the Booby Trap on the River strip club in Miami early Sunday morning. According to Local 10 News, the yacht was being used by Metro and several guests.
The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. when the yacht pulled up to the dock at 3615 NW S River Dr. Workers at the club noticed smoke about 15 minutes after the yacht arrived. Michael Marhefka, Director of Security at the Booby Trap on the River, recalled, “Around 3 o’clock the boat arrived, it was Metro Boomin. The boat pulled up and they were on the boat maybe 30 minutes at the dock and we noticed what sounded like fire alarms going off. When we looked at the boat we did see some smoke inside the boat.”
Workers quickly evacuated about 10 guests and several boat crew members. As firefighters battled the flames, the yacht continued to burn for hours, with crews using a ladder truck to tackle the fire from above. By 7 a.m., the yacht had sunk into the river. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and crews are working on a plan to remove the wreckage, which remains tied to the dock.
Metro has not spoken out publicly about the incident.
