Kanye West is back in the studio, and he’s got his daughter North to thank for it.
In a recent Instagram post, Ye revealed that his upcoming album, BULLY, was inspired by North West, who played a huge role in helping him reconnect with his creativity.
“This little girl made me love music again,” Ye wrote in the caption, sharing a photo of North in the studio. “She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR, chopped up beats for the album, and chopped every beat with my bare hands for BULLY.”
For Kanye, this marks a significant shift. During his Vultures 2 era, the rapper admitted he had hit a creative dead end. But with North by his side, his passion for music has been reignited.
In addition to his heartfelt post, Kanye shared two behind-the-scenes videos of North.
In the first, she walks up to an audio setup alongside longtime collaborator Tony Williams. In the second, North stands in front of a screen and microphone with a vocal loop playing in the background. Kanye can be heard directing his engineer to “play it,” hinting at North’s direct involvement in the project.
It’s clear North is not just inspiring Kanye—she’s actively contributing to the process.
