A viral video has been circulating online, reigniting discussions about racial profiling after an incident between African American real estate developer DaMichael Jenkins and Michelle Bishop. The situation unfolded in November in one of Ohio’s safest neighborhoods, where Jenkins resides.

In the video, captured by Jenkins’ Ring doorbell camera, Bishop is seen standing in front of his home, screaming and claiming that Jenkins did not live there. Many social media users noted the racial undertones of her accusations, which left viewers shocked. Jenkins later revealed that Bishop had also called the police during the incident.
“As a Black man in this country, the last thing you want is a confrontation with law enforcement,” Jenkins shared during a recent interview.
On January 18, Michelle Bishop went live on social media, tearfully defending her actions. She claimed her intentions were misunderstood but acknowledged that people have been calling her a racist and demanding a public apology. Despite the backlash, Bishop has stated that she has no plans to apologize publicly.
DaMichael Jenkins and his wife addressed the incident in an appearance on Nightcap, where they opened up about the emotional toll it has taken on their family. Jenkins described the fear he felt that night, being accused of trespassing on his own property. He also expressed frustration with the lack of support from the neighborhood’s HOA, sharing that the organization has remained silent since the incident.
The couple revealed that they had built their home from the ground up in a growing development. Prior to moving into their current house, they lived in the front section of the neighborhood. Jenkins mentioned that he had seen Bishop frequently during the development process, but her actions that night have left the family feeling uneasy about living in the community.
