Corey Pritchett Jr., a 26-year-old YouTuber with nearly 4 million subscribers, is facing serious legal trouble after being charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping. On Thursday, a Houston judge set his bond at $200,000, denying a request from his attorney to lower it. Prosecutors argued that Pritchett posed a significant flight risk, pointing to his behavior following the alleged incident.

According to court documents, Pritchett is accused of holding two women at gunpoint after a night out in November 2023. The women stated that Pritchett initially offered them a ride home, but instead sped onto I-10, heading toward San Antonio. During the drive, they allege he fired shots out of the window and made violent threats, including telling them, “I’m going to [expletive] you and then I’m going to kill you.” The women said when Pritchett realized they were texting each other, he took their phones and called a woman, reportedly saying, “I have the perfect opportunity and no one can hear them scream.”

The women said they begged Pritchett to stop and let them go, but he refused. Court records reveal that Pritchett eventually turned around and dropped them off on the side of I-10 near Sealy around 1:30 a.m., telling them, “This is your only opportunity.” The women walked along the highway for about an hour before a driver stopped to help them.

After the alleged incident, Pritchett posted mocking videos on his YouTube channel, seemingly taunting law enforcement. In one video, he laughed and said, “I kidnapped somebody, got them in the back of my truck. Send the FBI to come find me, I’m in Dubai, I’m running,” while drinking what appeared to be a cocktail. Prosecutors said Pritchett flew out of the country on December 9, booking a one-way ticket to Doha, Qatar, before traveling to Dubai. While in Dubai, Pritchett continued posting on social media, claiming the publicity from the case was “boosting his career.”

Pritchett’s time abroad ended on January 16 when he was arrested at the Houston airport upon his return. At Thursday’s court appearance, his attorney argued for a lower bond, but the judge upheld the $100,000 bond for each count of aggravated kidnapping. Prosecutors emphasized his lack of remorse and pointed to his international travel as evidence of a flight risk.

Court documents also revealed how the ordeal began. Pritchett met the two women at a gym on November 23, where they worked out together and rode ATVs before heading to a bowling alley that night. The women said Pritchett began acting strangely after spotting a group he’d had prior issues with. After leaving, they arranged to meet him to retrieve their belongings left in his car, but the situation quickly escalated into what prosecutors describe as a terrifying kidnapping.

Pritchett remains in custody.
